Here are a few questions that I am wondering about the design contest:
1) Should we be leaving our contest design private or public so that judges can see them
2)Are we allowed to use Jquery plugins or jquery features developed by us (the rules state no thrid party widgets, but Ning networks come with native jquery so I am wondering.
3)What exactly will the judges be looking for on April 15th? Creative use of space? CSS styling? a nice list would be helpful.
finally, the entry form stated that we would be credited the price of a pro network since it was A) should have been covered by the 30 day trial and B) since it was only for thirty days. However, I just got a bill from Ning which withdrew $50 from my paypal account for my contest entry network http://streetartcheology.ning.com When will I see this credited back to my account?
1) Public so that the judges can see them.
2) Avoid using jQuery in your entries.
3) The judges will be scoring the entries based on usability, creativity and typography. This could certainly mean creative use of space/CSS styling, but at a high level they'll be looking for themes that look great/are creative, have typography that lends itself to the design and are are usable in the context of a social/community website. Look forward to seeing what you come up with!
great...thanks for checking on that paypal withdrawl...i need to get that fixed or else things will start to bounce...namely my upcoming payment for my real network on ning
