Tabbed Panel

Hi all,

Im trying to add a tabbed panel to our site, something similar to the one in the central column of this site (Todays Top ten - Latest Activity - Blogs - Discussions):

http://www.govloop.com/

It seems to be a really nice way of compressing lots of content into a small area.
Any ideas how to create this, is this similar to adding a slider? I've done some searching and cant seem to find any information on this so would appreciate any pointers.
